The activities of trade unions are poorly known. A large proportion of Poles cannot respond to the work of the largest union headquarters – according to the latest CBOS study.

The authors of the CBOS study indicated that the lack of knowledge about the activities of the union applies primarily to the Trade Union Forum – 74 percent. He cannot assess the activities of this trade union headquarters – and the National Trade Union Agreement (61 percent), and in a lesser extent NSZZ “Solidarność” (42 percent).

The report reads that among those with a specific opinion on trade unions a similar percentage of respondents assess their actions positively and negatively. In the last six months there have been slight changes in the social reception of the studied trade union headquarters.

Actions NSZZ “Solidarity” positively perceives 29 percent. respondents (increase by 3 percentage points compared to March), and negative – 30 percent (decrease by 2 points). 19 percent speak about the activity of OPZZ with approval. when asked, with disapproval – 20 percent FZZ activities are well assessed by 14 percent. respondents, bad – 13 percent (decrease by 3 points compared to March).

The survey shows that young people, from 18 to 24 years old, have the best opinions about the activities of trade unions, pupils and students. People with the highest per capita income (from PLN 6,000 and up), as well as residents of large cities are more critical than average for their activities.

The authors of the study pointed out that belonging to a trade union is of little importance for the assessment of the main trade union headquarters. At the same time, they noticed “imitation opinions” about the most famous relationship, or NSZZ “Solidarity”. While the majority of people declaring their right -wing political views assess his activities positively, respondents describing their beliefs as left -wing or central speak about NSZZ “Solidarity” rather with disapproval.

In electorates, the activities of this trade union headquarters are best assessed by voters of Law and Justice, the worst – supporters of the Civic Coalition.

The study was carried out from 11 to 22 September 2025 on a sample of 969 people (including: 65.4 percent by the CAPI method, 22.1 percent – Cati and 12.5 percent – CAWI). (PAP)
