Actress Evgenia Dobrovolskaya had stomach cancer. As Mash learned, she had been suffering from the disease since 2023.
That's when she first felt pain in her stomach. But she didn’t go to the doctors – she treated herself. She took medications for stomach upset. In the fall of the same year, she suddenly began to lose weight, and lumps appeared under the skin. At the end of 2023 she was hospitalized. The examination showed an aggressive form of oncology with intradermal metastases, as well as metastases to the brain.
She underwent six courses of chemotherapy in early 2024, but the disease continued to progress. There was stomach bleeding. Then the actress underwent another procedure, achieved stabilization and partial regression. At the end of November she had a course of cellular immunotherapy. Closer to December, negative dynamics and increasing weakness were observed again. The condition became severe; Dobrovolskaya could no longer move without assistance; another hospitalization was required.
In January, the People's Artist of the Russian Federation died. She was 60 years old. According to her relatives, in recent years she has struggled with a serious illness. Over 33 years of work, Mikhail Efremov’s ex-wife played dozens of leading roles at the Art Theater. Today they said goodbye to her at the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater.
