The announcement, made on Instagram on Friday, December 26, was accompanied by a photo of Leavitt next to a Christmas tree, showing off her pregnant belly. She shared that she and her husband are thrilled and can't wait for their son to become a big brother, while also expressing gratitude for the experience of motherhood, which she considers “a blessing”.
Leavitt also thanked President Donald Trump as well as Chief of Staff Susie Wiles for their support and the climate “pro‑family” which he says he finds within the administration.
Karoline Leavitt and her husband Nicholas Riccio became parents for the first time in July 2024 when their son Nicholas was born. Since then, the spokeswoman has spoken frequently about the challenges of combining family life with the intense pace of political activity.
In a 2024 interview with The Conservateur, Leavitt said she returned to work just four days after giving birth, in the wake of the Butler, Pennsylvania bombing. She explained that she felt the need to be present at a moment she considered historic, emphasizing the president's dedication to the electoral campaign.
