In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, after the intervention of the prosecutor’s office, the subsoil user compensated for the multi-million dollar damage caused to the water body.
It was established that in the fall of 2025 in the Motyginsky district, the joint-stock company Priisk Udereisky, in the midst of work to extract placer gold, made a serious mistake: contaminated wastewater flowed from the settling pond into the Malaya Penchenga River.
Laboratory samples taken by specialists showed that the concentrations of harmful substances significantly exceeded permissible standards, and the damage amounted to 44 million rubles.
A claim was sent to the court to recover it and, in parallel, according to the prosecutor's orders, the company was fined 350 thousand rubles for violating the rules for the protection of water bodies (Part 4 of Article 8.13 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation), the habitat of aquatic biological resources (Article 8.33 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation) and failure to comply with the requirements for the conservation of water resources (Part 1 of Article 8.48 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation).
“After the inspection, the company hastily eliminated the violations, repaired the settling tank system and transferred 44 million rubles to the federal budget,” the supervisory agency reported.
