Earthquake with a magnitude of 3.9 in the Vrancea seismic zone

A weak earthquake, of magnitude 3.9, occurred on Friday morning, at 3:54 a.m., in Vrancea county, according to data published by the National Research and Development Institute for Earth Physics (INCDFP).

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 87.7 km near the following cities: 47 km west of Focşani, 64 km north of Buzău, 64 km east of Sfântu-Gheorghe, 76 km east of Braşov, 94 km northeast of Ploiesti and 100 km south of Bacău.
In December, 12 earthquakes occurred in Romania with magnitudes between 2 and 3.9.
The biggest earthquakes this year, both of magnitude 4.4, took place on February 13, in Buzău county, and on May 11, in Vrancea county.
Last year, the most important earthquake had a magnitude of 5.4 and occurred in Buzau County, on September 16.
