Putin signed a decree calling up reservists for military training in 2026

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree calling up citizens in the reserves for military training in 2026. The document was published on the official portal of legal acts and came into force on December 8.
According to the decree, training will be held in the Armed Forces, troops of the Russian Guard, military rescue units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, state security agencies and the FSB. Men who have completed compulsory or contract service, received a deferment or exemption, as well as graduates of military universities and women with a military specialty can be called up for them.
The government and regional authorities have been instructed to organize training camps. After signing the decree, the General Staff will send a directive to the military registration and enlistment offices to begin sending out summonses to those liable for military service. Annual military training is a planned event for the training of reservists.
