President Nicușor Dan met with the representatives of the Romanian community in France, on Monday, at the Romanian Embassy in Paris, and sent them an “optimistic” message, claiming that Romania today has “an administration that to some extent is of good faith, but in any case it is more mature and is starting to know what it wants”. The head of state did not take questions after the address.
He claims that the Presidential Administration is trying to create an “interface” to streamline actions related to Romanians across borders.
“The problem has always been – everyone is in good faith, but who is the interface? And we are trying to do this at the Presidential Administration, to create an interface so that in a structured way and for all Romanians living outside of Romania we do some things that will last and that will make our actions more effective”, declared Nicușor Dan.
The president believes that “Romania today has the maturity to self-evaluate.”
“About Romania, first of all, I want to tell you that, despite the news and, well… Latin people, great passions, but, beyond that, in my opinion, Romania today has the maturity to self-evaluate, to know what it can do, it has a very dynamic private area, it has an administration that to some extent is in good faith, but in any case it is more mature and starting to know what it wants. Compared to where we risked to be last year, I think we have all learned our lessons and I think we have started a rather long process of reconciliation between the administration and society”, Nicușor Dan also declared.
