On Monday, the Supreme Court upheld the disciplinary penalty of a warning to prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek regarding her entries on the X platform from 2022-2023.

This concerns the ruling of the Disciplinary Court operating under the Prosecutor General from May this year, which punished prosecutor Wrzosek with a warning in the case of two entries on Platform X from 2022 and 2023. As she wrote in May this year. “Rzeczpospolita”, prosecutor Wrzosek allegedly “attacked the prosecutor's assessor who prepared an indictment against rapper Michał M., nickname “Mata”, related to his possession of a small amount (exactly 1.4 grams) of marijuana.”
On Monday, the Chamber of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court, chaired by judge Wiesław Kozielewicz, upheld the disciplinary penalty imposed by the court of first instance.
As Judge Rapporteur Barbara Skoczkowska said during her justification, the case concerns primarily “determining the limits of the prosecutor's freedom of speech on social media.”
– Of course, we do not believe that you cannot and cannot use social media, but private individuals are allowed more. Public figures, and the prosecutor is such a person, not to mention the fact that she is a state official, must not cross certain boundaries – explained Judge Skoczkowska. (PAP)
