The Crown Prosecution Service announced on Friday the indictment of a former doctor for allegedly sexually assaulting 38 victims under his care, writes the Daily Mail.
Nathaniel Spencer, from Quinton, Birmingham, has been accused of dozens of sexual assaults between 2017 and 2021.
The 38-year-old is accused of sexually assaulting adult patients and children under his care following an investigation by Staffordshire Police.
Officers investigated the allegations against him at Royal Stoke University Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley.
He is charged with nine counts of sexual assault on a child under 13, three counts of assault on a child under 13 by penetration and one count of attempted penetration.
The man was charged today and is due to appear at North Staffordshire Justice Center on January 20, 2026.
Ben Samples, Deputy Chief Prosecutor in the Complex Cases Unit and West Midlands Serious Violence, Organized Crime and Exploitation Unit, said: “We have decided to prosecute Nathaniel Spencer for a series of serious sexual offenses allegedly committed against patients while practicing as a doctor – including penetrative assault and sexual assault of a child.“
“Our prosecutors have worked extensively to support a detailed and complex investigation by Staffordshire Police, scrutinizing the evidence available to establish that there is sufficient evidence to take the case to court and that there is a public interest in bringing criminal proceedings.”he added.
Nathaniel Spencer has been suspended from practicing medicine in the UK pending an investigation.
