Incredible situation in Belgrade, at the match between Partizan and Bayern Munich, in the men's Euroleague. The home team's players were booed by their own supporters in reaction to their alleged role in legendary coach Zeljko Obradovic's decision to step down as manager. Fans also chanted the 65-year-old technician's name for minutes on end.
Partizan Belgrade, the team that will meet on Sunday, December 7, at U-BT Cluj-Napoca (BTarena, 20:30), is going through one of the biggest crises in the club's history. The resignation of Zeljko Obradovic, considered the best European coach in history, has dynamited the relationship between the fans and the president Ostoja Mijailovic, and the players are also considered guilty.
The departure of Zeljko Obradovic has thrown Partizan Belgrade into the air
What exactly happened? After Partizan Belgrade's 91-69 loss to Panathinaikos Athens, the legendary Obradovic decided to resign. The fans were shocked at the thought of the departure of the most important personality of the club and waited for him at the airport in Belgrade, trying to convince him to change his mind.
At the same time, the management of Partizan Belgrade announced that they do not accept Obradovic's resignation and that discussions will take place to try to get him to stay at the helm of the black and whites. The meetings ended without success, and the coach who won the Euroleague 9 times maintained his decision to leave Partizan.
In the public space, more information appeared related to the reasons for Obradovic's resignation, and one of them was that the players were not responding to his directions and were no longer listening to him. That cooled the relationship between Partizan's fanatical supporters and the team's basketball players.

The powder keg was ignited on Tuesday when Obradovic filmed a 20-minute video highlighting the problems this season. The 65-year-old coach defended the players and instead blamed president Ostoja Mijailovic for Partizan's problems.
The video collected more than 370,000 views and was picked up by all sports publications in Serbia and beyond. The following day, Partizan fans demanded Mijailovic's resignation and began preparing for the duel with Bayern Munich in the Euroleague.
Even if the president of the club is the main culprit in the eyes of the supporters, the players of the team did not escape. Therefore, the duel with Bayern provided some breathtaking scenes. Upon entering the court, the Partizan basketball players were booed profusely by their own fans, who threw several objects at them. The same method was chosen for the presentation of the two teams.

In addition, the home supporters came up with posters of Zeljko Obradovic and chanted his name for minutes even after the start of the game. Partizan fans were not even improved by the successful actions of their favorites. Tyrique Jones was booed after a slam dunk, and Carlik Jones was also targeted by the fans' anger.
It thunders LOUDLY and very clearly:

Who is Zeljko Obradovic
Born on March 9, 1960 in Cacak, Serbia, Zeljko Obradovic played 6 seasons for his hometown team before spending 7 seasons at Partizan Belgrade. After withdrawal, he immediately became the head coach of the black and whites and in 1992 brought the only Euroleague title to the club's record.
That performance cemented his legendary status and almost 3 decades followed for Obradovic as he coached Joventut Badalona, Real Madrid, Benetton Treviso, Panathinaikos and Fenerbahce, winning a further 8 Euroleague titles.
Considered the best European coach of all time, Obradovic returned in June 2021 to Partizan Belgrade and helped the team from the Serbian capital to return to the Euroleague. Also under his command, Partizan won the Adriatic League twice.
