“When I arrived for an interview in New York, I walked into the room and her assistant said: “Katerina is from Russia.” I turn around and say that I am from Ukraine,” the presenter shared her memories.
After this, according to Osadchaya, the singer herself intervened in the conversation.
“She says: “Don’t you know that Ukraine and Russia are two different countries?” And she begins to scold her assistant. And she tells the whole group how she was in Ukraine, that Ukraine is a separate country, that it is independent, beautiful and is no longer Russia,” Osadchaya added.
The presenter probably mixed up the chronology of events a little, since her interview with Madonna was published in January 2012, TSN reports. The singer came to Ukraine with a concert in August of the same year. As noted in the publication on the TSN website, during the concert Madonna mixed up the Ukrainian and Russian flags.
