– Just before Easter, we looked at the prices of products that are eagerly bought on the occasion of these holidays. We compared this year's data from 2023 – emphasizes Antonina Grzelak from the Panparagon application. – The differences are visible to the naked eye. At one pole we have large increases, and at the other large price drops – he adds.

The study includes the price median in the first quarter of 2023, 2024 and 2025 for such products as: milk chocolate, butter, eggs, cottage cheese, ground coffee, horseradish, wheat-life bread, wheat flour and sugar. Regular prices of the most popular brands of individual products have been included. The study covered groceries available in the largest discount chains.

Chocolate with a new symbol of the path?

Of the nine products tested by experts, milk chocolate increased the most. In 2023, the median prices for the plaque of this sweet cost cost PLN 3.99. This year, the data indicates the median PLN 5.98 for the same product. This generated an increase of approx. 50 percent. It is worth adding that the plaque included in the chocolate study has decreased and instead of 100 g, now you can only find the 90 g version.

Thus, the chocolate overtook even butter, which for a long time was considered a symbol of the path. Its price in 2 years increased from PLN 6.99 to PLN 9.49, which is about 36 percent.

Recently, also loud about egg prices. It turned out that for a pack of 10 pieces of mulch eggs in size M in 2023 we paid PLN 7.99, this year it costs PLN 9.99. This is a 25 % increase in price

– It is worth mentioning that in some retail chains we have noticed extremely low egg prices. This year, the pack of 10 items could be bought about PLN 3 cheaper. Apparently, the price war went to another product, sought after during this period,. All this to attract consumers who will also buy other products – notes Antonina Grzelak from the Panparagon application.

In turn, by 8 percent He increased the cottage cheese semi -fat (from PLN 5.45 to PLN 5.90 for 250 g), and 3 % The price of ground coffee increased (from PLN 29.99 to PLN 30.99 for 500 g).

These products are based on inflation

Optimistic accents can also be seen in the shopping basket. A big surprise is the decrease in the price of white sugar. 1 kg of this product in 2023 cost about PLN 5.99, this year the median indicates a price of PLN 2.98. That's about 50 percent cheaper! Although not so spectacularly, wheat flour still made significantly. 1 kg of the flour selected 2 years ago cost PLN 5.45. This year, the price of the same product decreased to PLN 5, which means a decrease by approx. 8 percent.

Over the past two years, two products included in the study have not changed their price. For a jar 180
We paid the horseradish and we still pay PLN 3.49. Wheat-life bread also remained on the same
price level, i.e. PLN 4.90 for 500 g.

Panparagon

– Although in our Easter basket there are both large increases and declines in prices, the total value of the entire set of products over two years has increased by about 6 percent. In 2023, we would pay PLN 74.24 for the same articles, while in 2025 – already PLN 78.72. This shows that despite several clear discounts, such as sugar or flour, increases, especially in the case of dairy products, eggs or sweets, still remain a dominant trend. These changes can significantly affect consumer wallets preparing for Christmas, and at the same time show how dynamic and currently the food market in Poland is currently and – sums up Antonina Grzelak from the Panparagon application.
