The workers claim they were cheated. They state that they received promises of legal employment and obtaining the necessary documents. When they arrived in Spain they discovered that they had no permits and no guarantee.

Many called for the union's support to clarify the situation, and the company's response was to fire them immediately.

Barcelona have already played their first match at Camp Nou after the renovation, and Flick's side won 4-0 against Athletic Bilbao. The next match at the newly modernized stadium is scheduled for November 29 against Alaves.

During the modernization, the Catalan team had to play their home matches at the Olympic Stadium in the last two seasons, and at the beginning of the current season at the “Johan Cruyff” arena.

The full renovation of the stadium is expected to be completed in June 2026.

Camp Nou was inaugurated in 1957, and the current project represents only the second major renovation in its history. The first took place in 1982, when the stadium also benefited from an expansion of capacity.

Giant tables will also be installed and the capacity will increase from 99,000 to 105,000 seats.
