Sent as starter in the first stage of the new season in China, Alexandru Mitriță was decisive in the victory achieved by Zhejiang Professional, 2-0 at home against Qingdao West Coast.
The guests had a free kick from around the box in the 18th minute, and the hosts went on the counterattack through Saul Guarirapa, who tried to engage Mitriță in depth, but the pass was intercepted by an opposing defender.
However, the ball was quickly recovered by the former Romanian international, who released Guarirapa with an excellent pass from the left flank, leaving the Colombian striker in a one-on-one position with the goalkeeper. Early in the second half, the hosts had a goal disallowed by VAR for a build-up foul and the visitors missed a chance to get back on the scoreboard after Abdul Yakubu wasted a penalty in the 53rd minute.
Transferred by Zheijang Professional from Craiova University last summer for the sum of two million euros, Mitriță had a very good debut season, managing to score 8 goals and provide 7 assists in 16 appearances.
