Orlen demands a refund for Obajtek's “teeth”. Harsh words from the minister


In December 2024, a lawsuit was brought to the court in Łódź against Daniel Obajtek for the payment of almost PLN 159,000. zloty. Orlen wants the funds that were supposed to be used for private purposes, such as hotel stays and restaurant visits, to be returned.

As “Fakt” wrote, Orlen is also demanding a refund from the PiS MEP for expenses with a company card for dental prosthetics and Botox. The president of an oil company was to travel privately to Łeba using company money. The trial in this case started in October.
— We should be happy that Daniel Obajtek has his teeth. However, an audit was carried out, which showed that there were expenses that were not in line with corporate standards – said Wojciech Balczun, Minister of State Assets, on TVP Info.
– Obajtek claimed that everyone had access to such medical care – interrupted the host Justyna Dobrosz-Oracz.
— It is known that companies offer medical packages, but not for Botox, not for certain intimate things. Therefore, the company applied for the return of these funds, concluded the minister.

What are Orlen's profits?
Orlen is a Polish multi-concern dealing with, among others, energy, gas, fuel production and fertilizer production. Obajtek served as the president of the management board and general director of Orlen SA from February 6, 2018 to February 5, 2024. He was dismissed by decision of the company's supervisory board, and his temporary successor was Witold Literacki.
The stock market reacted well to this decision. When the PiS nominee left office, the share price was approximately PLN 65.8 per share. Currently it is approximately PLN 98.6. At the end of 2024, the company generated a profit of approximately PLN 1.38 billion, and after 9 months of this year it is already approximately PLN 8.09 billion. The current president is Ireneusz Fąfara.
