The son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, Jared Kushner, is part of the US delegation that is discussing in Geneva, Switzerland, with Ukrainian and European officials about the peace plan developed by the Washington administration to end Russia's war in Ukraine.
Jared Kushner played a key role in certain moments of US diplomacy in the Middle East but also in other parts, both during the first and in the second term of Donald Trump, points out News.ro citing the American station CNN.
The Trump administration accelerated the process of negotiating an agreement to end the war in Ukraine in the weeks following the Gaza ceasefire deal, which Jared Kushner also helped broker.
The American delegation to the peace talks in Geneva is led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Other members include special envoy Steve Witkoff, US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll, State Department adviser Mike Needham, NATO commander Alexus Grynkewich, deputy national security adviser Andy Baker and the top US diplomat in Ukraine, Julie Davis.
