The accident occurred on Provincial Road 335. The preliminary investigation suggests that the concrete blocks may have shifted due to sudden braking and possible improper fastening, according to Fan Page.
The Romanian driver was trapped under the weight of the load, with no chance of survival, despite the quick intervention of the firefighters and doctors from the 118 ambulance.
Two fire brigades, one from Caserta and the other from Marcianise, quickly arrived at the scene of the accident, acting with the help of a crane to lift the concrete blocks and free the cab of the truck.
Broască, originally from Romania, lived for several years in Atripalda, province of Avellino, Italy, together with his wife and two children. The local community and transport colleagues were shocked by the tragic event.
Local police crews and prosecutors are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident to determine whether safety regulations for transporting heavy loads were followed.
