According to the American station NBC News, President Trump this week expressed support for the plan that was developed in recent weeks by representatives of the American authorities. The document was to be consulted with Vladimir Putin's envoy, Kirill Dmitriev, as well as representatives of Ukraine. However, sources close to the Ukrainian government and a European official familiar with the situation say that Kyiv did not participate in the plan creation process. As reported, Ukraine was only informed about the general assumptions of the project, without detailed details.

According to media reports the plan includes, among others: US recognition of the Russian annexation of Crimea and Donbas, return of the remaining part of unoccupied Donbas to Russia and a radical reduction in the size of the Ukrainian army.
