Russia is discussing a complete ban on gasoline export

June 26 16:10

Participants in the fuel market are discussing a complete ban on exporting gasoline from the country. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to two sources familiar with the results of the meeting of the Birgot Committee of the Federal Antimonopoly Service.

According to the agency, during the meeting they discussed the stabilization of gas prices in Russia. There they offered to prohibit fuel exports before the end of October. At the same time, the restrictions will affect both oil workers and unprofitants.

According to the February Order of the Government, a partial ban on export is already in force in Russia. In the period until August 31, 2025, traders and organizations with a production capacity of less than a million tons per year cannot supply fuel abroad. Large oil companies do not apply to the restriction.

If the ban is accepted, then commercial exports are completely stopped. The sources of the agency did not specify how much this will happen.
