“Today I am taking you with me to see the Passage of the Defender of the Fatherland. At the moment it is under construction, but the work continues, and the engineer on the site confirmed to me: it will be ready on time! We are investing time and resources in the projects that Bucharest really needs. We know what needs to be done for this Capital and that is exactly what we are doing”Daniel Băluță sent in a message posted on his Facebook page.

He also emphasized that the Passage Aparătorii Patriei is one of the priority infrastructure projects for streamlining traffic in the south of the Capital.

“Works on the Passage of the Defenders of the Fatherland are on schedule. We hope that in the course of 2026, it will be put into use”the mayor also said.

The passage from Aparătorii Patriei will be 860 meters long, two lanes in each direction, and will cross Berceni Road, from Turnu Măgurele to Sergent Ion Iriceanu street.

The works cost about 87 million lei, according to the approved technical and economic indicators, and the designated builder is the Association of Concelex, Omega Star Systems, Alpenside, Luxten and PAB Romania.

Daniel Băluță said in September that, most likely, at the end of next year, the Passage of the Defender of the Fatherland will be put into use.

“The passage from Aparătorii Patriei is an important one, and together with the Europa United passage and the one over Olteniței Road, it will close the ring and connect with a new tram line from Giurgiului Road to Pipera.

The tram stations on the passage will be connected to the Aparătorii Patriei metro station with an elevator and escalators. We started with the expropriations, we continued with the relocation of the utilities, and so far, over 70 tons of reinforcement and 600 tons of concrete have been used in the construction. By the end of 2026 at the latest, we will be able to travel on the new Pasaj Apărătorii Patriei”said Daniel Băluță at the time.
