ANAF will start the process in court on Monday for the recovery of the sums owed by the spouses Klaus and Carmen Iohannis from the rents obtained for the confiscated building in Sibiu, sources told Antena 3.
The former president and his wife must return to the state approximately 4.7 million lei (approximately one million euros), representing rents, interest and penalties for the commercial space retroceded between 2001-2015 and later recovered by the state. ANAF will sue the Iohannis family to recover the money.
In October, the National Fiscal Administration Agency (ANAF) took possession of half of the building located on Nicolae Bălcescu street no. 29, in the center of Sibiu, which belonged to the Klaus and Carmen Iohannis family. The takeover was achieved by changing the door handle and drawing up a report, in the absence of the former owners.
The inspectors had to enter the building by forcing one of the entrances. “Being in this situation, our colleagues forced one of the entrances and penetrated inside the building. Inside the building, they proceeded to inventory the goods there, found that the building is in a state of disrepair and that in one of the doors there is a key to the building”the ANAF president explained on October 3.
“Until the present date, we have no indications that the two spouses want to pay the amounts owed. ANAF will proceed to initiate the action in court against the two spouses and will additionally request the payment of the amount and insurance measures on the assets, in order to recover the damage owed”, he added.
