A new uniformed service will be established. The Road Transport Inspection will disappear

Bukowiec emphasized that the draft act on the Road Transport Service is the next stage of these changes, but for now work on it has been suspended. In July this year, the Standing Committee of the Council of Ministers postponed consideration of the bill amending the Road Transport Act, recommending additional consultations with the Ministry of Interior and Administration.
“Until decisions are made at the level of constitutional ministers, work on the draft act on the Road Transport Service has been suspended,” Bukowiec said. He added that the ministry, in cooperation with the Chief Inspector of Road Transport, continues activities aimed at improving the effectiveness and efficiency of ITD.
The Road Transport Inspectorate plays a key role in monitoring compliance with road transport regulations. Her tasks include, among others: monitoring road traffic safety, conditions of transport of persons and goods, compliance with drivers' working hours and correctness of tolls. ITD is also responsible for issuing licenses, permits, certificates and attestations.
