DIICOT prosecutors found drugs instead of chocolate eggs, following searches in Mehedinti and Ilfov. Almost half a kg of cannabis had been hidden in the plastic packaging of the eggs. Six people were detained for high -risk drug trafficking.

Following 22 house searches carried out on April 15 in Mehedinți and Ilfov counties, the authorities discovered over 450 grams of cannabis.
According to investigators, some of the drugs were already prepared for sale, including hidden in surprises found in Kinder eggs.
Also, electronic scales, teas, money and other incriminating samples were confiscated
The persons initially detained are between 18 and 44 years old. Four of them were detained for a 30 -day period. The other two were placed under judicial control, but the DIICOT prosecutors challenged the measure.
Prosecutors say that, between 2024 and April 2025, different quantities of risk drugs from consumers from Mehedinti County.
The action involved an extended collaboration between various structures of police and gendarmerie. Police officers of the Organized Crime Fighting Brigade, the Ilfov Organized Crime Fighting Service, the gendarmes of the Gendarmes Group Craiova and the special intervention brigade of the Gendarmerie participated.
