Two Romanians who were visiting Istanbul were “slightly” injured following an armed attack that took place on the night of Saturday to Sunday, in Taksim Square, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Țoiu, announced on Sunday.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs states that this case came to the attention of the Consulate General of Romania in Istanbul following the emergency call of the Romanian accompanying them. The Romanians were part of a group participating in a cultural event in Istanbul, says Țoiu.

We wish them a speedy recovery and we are still with them through the necessary consular assistance”, Oana Țoiu said.
