Deputy Prime Minister Oana Gheorghiu: “Nicușor Dan has everything he needs, he lacks speed”

Oana Gheorghiu believes that President Nicusor Dan, whom he has known for almost three decades, “has everything he needs”, but “he lacks speed”. Regarding Ilie Bolojan, the deputy prime minister says that he was given a free hand to act “things”.

Invited to the show “In front of you” from Digi 24, Oana Gheorghiu was asked what President Nicusor Dan would miss.

“I'm not objective here. I've already said publicly, I've known Nicusor Dan since he was young, I think from '96-'97. I think that Nicusor Dan has everything he needs, he lacks speed. Here we differ, he does things at a different pace”answered Oana Gheorghiu.

“My mandate is a reform mandate”

In the same show, Deputy Prime Minister Oana Gheorgiu confessed that he received a free hand from Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan regarding the reform of state companies.

“He didn't tell me not to do anything. Mr. Bolojan gave me, he told me, that I have a free hand to do things to… As I was telling you, the fifth day. What we are doing now, at this moment, is to clearly define the things we have to do. My mandate is a mandate of reform, digitization, debureaucratization. And I will take them one at a time. What does reform mean? It means, first of all, the reform of state companies“, declared Oana Gheorghiu.

The Deputy Prime Minister explained that it is about more than 1,370 institutions that should be worked on:

“Among the 1,370 entities, a lot are in line ministries. So we are mapping these companies and trying to clearly establish responsibilities between ministries and between members of the government.”

Oana Gheorghiu also said that the reform is not only under her authority and is to be shared with other deputy prime ministers.
