Perhaps the most interesting question concerned her favorite players from this year's edition. Here are all the curiosities and how Simona answered.
Simona Halep, asked by the WTA: “The players who inspire you the most?”
– Your favorite activity now that you are retired?
– To do nothing, because it's relaxing and I need rest.
– When was the last time you played tennis?
– About two months ago.
– A goal you have after retirement?
– I would like to become better at golf.
– What do you miss the most from the circuit?
– Adrenaline of winning matches.
– Which of the players from this edition of the Tournament of Champions inspires you the most?
– There are two. Paolini, because she fought hard to get here, and Anisimova, because she dealt with mental health problems and is now in the TOP 8, something amazing.
WTA No. 8 Jasmine Paolini lost all of her matches at the Tournament of Champions with Gauff, Pegula and Sabalenka without winning a set.
Anisimova prevailed in two of the 3 games played, 2-1 with Madison Keys and Iga Swiatek, being defeated in the group only by Elena Rybakina, 0-2 in sets. In the semifinals, the American player was eliminated by Aryna Sabalenka, 3-6, 6-3, 3-6.
In the final, Sabalenka will face Rybakina.
