Historic change on US banknotes. The Treasury Department announced the decision

Until now, they appeared on United States banknotes only signatures of Treasury Department officials — secretary and treasurer. Now, however, for the first time, the treasurer's signature will be replaced by the signature of the American president.
The first banknotes after the changes are to be printed in June, and more will go into circulation in the following months.
This is how Donald Trump's administration explains the signature on banknotes
The Trump administration decided to introduce this historic change in connection with the upcoming 250th anniversary of the declaration of US independence, which falls in July. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stressed that bills with the president's name would be appropriate a way to honor both the achievements of the United States and Donald Trump himself.
Currently, US banknotes bear the signatures of former Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and former Treasurer Lynn Malerby, who served during Joe Biden's presidency.
