Sorana Cîrstea (36 years old, 18 WTA) duels with Emma Răducanu (23 years old, 42 WTA) in the round of 16 of the WTA tournament at Queen's. The duel between Sorana Cîrstea and Emma Răducanu was postponed for at least an hour, due to the rain that caused headaches throughout the week.

In the inaugural round at Queen's, Emma Răducanu was the more convincing player. Sthe 23-year-old portiva prevailed 6-0, 6-3 against Anna Blinkova (27 years, 105)showing signs that he would have passed the bad period he had in recent months.

On the other hand, Sorana Cîrstea had big problems in the duel with Maddison Inglis (28 years old, 151 WTA), failing to play at a constant level. In the end, the Romanian won 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 and qualified for the “eight”.

So there will be a repeat of this year's Transylvania Open final on Thursday, June 11 at Queen's. Then, Răducanu had no chance against Cîrstea, having some physical problems. Sorana prevailed 6-0, 6-2 and became the first Romanian player to win the singles title at the WTA 250 tournament in Cluj-Napoca.

After the award ceremony of the Transylvania Open, the two opponents, with the trophies in their arms, had a two-minute friendly discussion in the net area. “There are no words to say enough about how good she was and what a lovely person she is. I think it's great to have someone like her around”, said Răducanu about Cîrstea, at the press conference in BTarena.

Returning to Queen's, the winner of this duel will meet either Harriet Dart (29 years old, 160 WTA) or Kamilla Rakhimova (24 years old, 78 WTA) in the “quarters”.

Later, at around 18:00, Jaqueline Cristian will also enter the Andy Murray Arena, who meets another Brit, Katie Boulter.
