Meghan Markle is back on set after giving up acting to marry Prince Harry

Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle has been spotted on the set of a feature film in the works at Amazon MGM Studios, the role she will play in it will mark her return to acting after giving up her career to join the British royal family, reports People magazine.

The Daily Mail and The Sun published images of Markle wearing sunglasses as she greeted and climbed into the back seat of a Range Rover after attending filming for Close Personal Friends.

“Two couples—one famous, the other not—meet in Santa Barbara and quickly become close friends,” says the so-far short IMDb description for the film, which is also known to star Brie Larson, Lily Collins, Jack Quaid and Henry Golding.

A source familiar with the situation told People magazine that the Duchess of Sussex “has a small role” in the film. “She seemed very relaxed and happy. She introduced herself to everyone and was extremely nice and natural,” the source said of the duchess' presence on set.

Markle was acting in a popular TV series when she met Prince Harry

Markle worked as an actress, having a recurring role on the legal drama series Suits when she met prince harry.

“It's a huge moment for Meghan and it marks a return to what she really loves. She's been bombarded with offers but this one felt like the right one,” a source told The Sun.

“It's Meghan's way of gently testing the waters and seeing how much she enjoys being back on set. Everyone involved is extremely excited and has been kept secret about her involvement,” the source added, adding that “Prince Harry is of course very supportive and just wants Meghan to do what brings her joy.”

People notes that the Duchess's decision came despite Markle previously saying she was done with acting.

In Harry and Markle's engagement interview in 2017, she talked about retiring from acting to move to the UK and become a full-time active member of the royal family. “I don't see this as giving anything up, just as a change,” he said at the time.
