Medvedev reacts to Donald Trump's words. It's about US nuclear tests

A week earlier, Trump announced that because of “other countries' testing programs,” he had directed the War Department to begin U.S. nuclear weapons tests “on a level playing field.”. In a later interview with CBS, he repeated this declaration, suggesting that both Russia and China were conducting tests in secret. — Russia is testing, China is testing, but no one talks about it. […] They test deep underground and we don't. We have to test – said the US president.

Donald Trump talks about nuclear tests. There is an answer from the Kremlin
In reaction to these words, Medvedev wrote that Russia “will be forced to assess the advisability of conducting full nuclear tests”if Washington actually resumes its attempts.
In his entry on the X platform, the Russian politician and one of the Kremlin's main propagandists wrote that “No one knows what Trump meant by nuclear testing – he probably doesn't know himself.”. At the same time, he warned that the words of the American leader “they will not remain without consequences”.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also reacted to Trump's words. During a meeting with representatives of security ministries, he stated that if other countries conduct nuclear tests, Russia will “will have to take appropriate retaliatory measures”.

Meanwhile, Washington assured that there are no plans to return to nuclear tests. US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, responsible for overseeing the nuclear arsenal, explained in an interview with Fox News that these are “systemic and non-critical” tests that do not involve nuclear explosions. As he emphasized, the United States continues its policy of suspending nuclear tests in accordance with its existing international obligations.
Experts warn that Trump's statements may have a domino effect and deepen tensions between nuclear powers. “If the US actually returns to tests, it would be a symbolic end to the era of containing nuclear escalation and the beginning of a new arms race,” commented Dr. Robert Hayes from the US Security Policy Institute in an interview with CNN.
