Anca Alexandrescu, who on Monday evening obtained the support of the AUR party for her candidacy for the Capital City Hall elections, stated, answering a HotNews question, that she is not running against the PSD, but against the “current power”.

Anca Alexandrescu was asked by the HotNews reporter if she ever thought that she would end up running against the PSD, considering that she worked in the past for many of the leaders of this party, such as Adrian Năstase, Liviu Dragnea, Viorica Dăncilă.

“It is not a candidacy against the PSD, but against the current government that canceled the elections. The time has come for all the citizens who are against the government, as Mr. (Călin) Georgescu also said, to do something,” she answered.

Asked, at the same time, if she will try to involve Călin Georgescu in her electoral campaign, given that the former candidate for the presidency of Romania contested the legitimacy of the elections for the Capital City Hall, letting it be understood that she does not support anyone in this race, Anca Alexandrescu answered:

“Mr. Georgescu's message was not understood. I'm not Drula, I don't need propte. My relationship with the Georgescu family is one of friendship, and I would never ask him for something like that. A friendship is a friendship. He does nothing but be consistent with what he said in the presidential elections. Now he's waiting for those who think like us to get involved and do something.”

“What I did for Mr. Georgescu, the sovereignist movement and AUR, I did from the heart and from faith,” added Anca Alexandrescu.

And the AUR leader, George Simion, added: “Bucharestians will go to the polls and, if they are tired of the current government, they will not vote with its candidates.”
