A fifth-grader exploded a firecracker during a lesson at school No. 2 in Istra, near Moscow. Nine children were injured.
Seven students were examined by paramedics, and two more by the school doctor. 11-year-old Veronica D. was hospitalized with toxic poisoning by vapors and gases. The bomb-shaped firecracker takes a long time to detonate – probably the children decided that it would not explode and came too close.
