President Nicușor Dan commented on Sunday the request made by the leader of AUR, George Simion, for security from the SPP, after he complained that he received dozens of threats, and the party's headquarters were vandalized.
Dan was asked if this request should be approved in the CSAT, given that liberal deputy Alexandru Muraru asked that his request be rejected.
“We did not go into detail with this matter. As for party leaders, it is a decision of the Protection and Security Service. For any kind of political leader, for any kind of tension, it is good to have protection because we are in a democracy and the less tense things are, the better”, the head of state told the journalists present at the official launch of Cătălin Drula's candidacy from USR to the Capital City Hall.
The President of the AUR asked the Protection and Guard Service (SPP) on Friday to ensure his protection, his family and colleagues in the party leadership.
The next day, Simion said you were being guarded by the SPP. The leader of the AUR called the PNL deputy Alexandru Muraru a “louse”, who had requested that his request for protection from the SPP not be accepted.
Simion also criticized Vasile Bănescu, who had mocked him for this request. The AUR leader said about the CNA member that he is an “anti-Romanian” who “found a warm bed and censors opinions, both on television and on the Internet, at the National Broadcasting Council.”
