BLIK failure. Users cannot use payments and transfers

The payment operator announced on the X platform that from 10:33, BLIK users should no longer have problems with completing transactions.
The payment operator confirmed the failure in a social media post and announced that “the situation is returning to normal.” As reported, payment problems resulted from a hacker attack. “Since the early morning hours, we have observed an external DDoS attack, which affected the smooth operation of payments. The situation is returning to normal – the infrastructure is secured and the situation is constantly monitored.”

In connection with this failure, the Minister of Digital Affairs, Krzysztof Gawkowski, wrote directly about an external attack. He posted an entry on the X website in which he informed that from “early This morning we are observing an external DDoS attack on the Polish settlement infrastructure.” He added that intensive efforts are underway by the services to eliminate the effects of this attack.

The failure began around eight o'clock. Customers reported difficulties with payments both in online stores and in stationary stores. Banks confirmed that the defect affected a wide range of users.

BLIK is a common standard for mobile payments. Polski Standard Płatności is responsible for the development of the system. The company's shareholders are: Alior Bank, Bank Millennium, Santander Bank Polska, ING Bank Śląski, mBank, PKO Bank Polski and Mastercard. Last year, 2.4 billion transactions were made using the system, worth over PLN 347.3 billion.
