According to him, such persons “betrayed their country” and, receiving funding from abroad, harm the state. Volodin called the activities of foreign agents the work of a “fifth column”, destructive for statehood.

“A man who betrayed the country walks around Paris, and receives a pension from Russia. This needs to be transferred to a special account,” the Saratov 24 TV channel quotes Volodin as saying.

Speaker stressed that those wishing to receive a pension should return to the country and “respond according to their deserts.” He also noted that Russian legislation in this area remains more liberal compared to decisions taken in the USA, Israel and France.
