A powerful blow from space reached the Earth
Astronomers have recorded one of the most powerful shock waves in history. It was caused by a collision of one of the galaxies with its four neighbors.
The collision occurred in a group of galaxies called Stefan's Quintet, located 290 million light years from Earth. The impact likely triggered the star formation process.
