Manchester United's ambitious project to build a new stadium, presented a few months ago, could suffer a significant delay due to unexpected reasons, according to local media. This is because the design firm, which carried out the original plans and visions for the £2 billion arena, has also embarked on another similar project: the new stadium of Milan giants Inter and AC Milan.
The three clubs share a key partner in their ambitious plans, namely English firm Foster and Partners.
The two Italian teams are already moving forward with their project, having recently managed to reach an agreement with the municipality to purchase the “Giuseppe Meazza” stadium, where the new stadium with a capacity of 71,500 spectators will be built.
One of the most famous studios in the world has already started work on the project. At the same time, the “red devils” are having difficulties in negotiating the purchase of part of the land around the current “Old Trafford”, necessary for the construction of their own arena, according to sportal.bg.

Earlier this month, at a meeting with fans, Manchester United announced that their partnership with Fosters was continuing at this stage, but this could be subject to change.
“The club has announced that it is working with Fosters and Partners as the general contractor for the massive project to regenerate the entire space, including the neighborhood, but the management has not yet officially entrusted the firm with the actual design of the stadium,” the statement said.
“Initial design activities are deliberately halted at present until full clarity is obtained on the construction of the facility, fan requirements and other details. We encourage fans to treat media speculation with caution,” added the club's statement to fan organisations.
The club works closely with Greater Manchester City Council and government services to provide the necessary assistance.
