“The National Ten-Year Development Plan for 2026-2035 assumes an increase in demand for the transmission service to the value of approximately 26 – 29 billion cubic meters by 2031, determined mainly by the forecast demand from the energy sector,” the Office wrote.

He added that then – until 2040 – a slight decline in demand for the transmission service is expected due to the development of renewable energy sources and the launch of nuclear energy.

The plan includes a catalogue 24 infrastructure investmentsthe implementation of which is to take place in the perspective of 2027 as part of the continuation of investment programs already initiated, and in the perspective of 2035, taking into account investment tasks, the implementation of which will depend on the level of development of gas markets in Poland and the region.

“As a result of the implementation of these tasks, the total length of the transmission network should increase to approximately 13.7 thousand km, of which the planned increase in the network in the period 2025-2027 will amount to approximately 0.7 thousand km, and in the period 2028-2035 approximately 1.3 thousand km” – it was indicated.

The plan also includes, among others: a significant increase in gas pipelines with a diameter of DN1000, which will constitute elements of the FSRU Program and the Center-East Corridor.

“The implementation of the investment in the perspective of 2027 will enable the creation of a fully diversified gas market (…). However, in the perspective of 2035, investments are planned to increase the country's energy security or to expand transmission capacity in those regions of Poland where there will be an increase in the consumption of gas fuel, including for the needs of the electricity sector,” it added.
