Dani Alves (42 years old), from football to church! After spending several months in prison last year, accused of sexual assault in a nightclub in Barcelona, the ex-footballer was acquitted and is now trying to start a new life, free from controversy. He began to devote himself to religion, an almost ubiquitous aspect of his social media posts, bringing his new mission to the fore, with texts often accompanied by Bible verses.
“Disciple of Jesus Christ”, as he wrote from the description, on Instagram, Dani Alves participated in a recent activity in the church, it can be seen from the images that he is extremely involved in the discussions with the people in front of whom he preaches.
To better understand his transformation, a video released on Sunday morning shows the former footballer singing, arms raised, in the middle of a crowd during the third youth congress of the Elim Church in Girona, an evangelical Christian place of worship.
This church, led by Pastor Jimmy Martin, holds services every Tuesday evening and Sunday morning for three hours. In addition to these, they organize Bible studies and events like the one this weekend, in which Dani Alves participated as a special guest, according to abc.es.

“Evangelical Christians consider the Bible to be the ultimate authority, emphasizing the importance of the crucifixion and resurrection, and believe strongly in individual conversion. An important part of their religious work is based on evangelism, and they are distinguished from Catholicism, especially in that they do not accept the authority of the Pope,” notes the source cited above.
And Dani Alves, who had a very turbulent recent past, found personal salvation in this doctrine after he was convicted.
In a video posted on social media, Alves told the crowd: “You have to have faith, I am the proof of this. What God promises, he fulfills. There, inside, I made a pact with God: “Lord, I make a pact with you”.
He continues, explaining what he asked for in return for his devotion: “I said, 'I will serve you, but you take care of my house, take care of the hearts of those people who will not abandon me.'

The former footballer added: “The Lord died so that you might be saved, and that was the love I felt there, inside. I said to him: 'Lord, show your love in me'. And he said to me: 'Serve me and I will take care. Because my part is already done, but your part is up to you'.”
Although Dani Alves did not share this special appearance at the Elim Church in Girona on his accounts, other attendees did and the images went viral.
On the same day, however, Dani Alves published a post with religious content, from several biblical verses, perfectly understanding his proximity to the church.
