Maciej Adamkiewicz is dead. The co-founder of Adamed passed away on Thursday


Maciej Adamkiewicz graduated from medical studies at the Medical University of Warsaw, specializing in surgery. He worked, among others, at the Bielański Hospital. In 2000, he took over the reins of Adamed after the death of his father, Marian Adamkiewicz, the founder of the company.
Under his leadership, the company developed dynamically, investing in research and innovation. Adamed currently has three production plants – two in Poland and one in Vietnam. Adamkiewicz, together with his wife Małgorzata Adamkiewicz, regularly appeared on the list of the richest Poles according to Forbes magazine. In 2025, the Adamkiewicz couple was ranked 24th on the list, with assets estimated at PLN 2.86 billion.
Scientific activity and involvement in the development of the company
In 2020, Maciej and Małgorzata Adamkiewicz resigned from managing Adamed. The company explained that from now on they would focus on strategic issues and setting directions for the company's development. The couple also planned to introduce their children to the business management process.
Maciej Adamkiewicz was active in the scientific community, he belonged, among others, to the International Urogynecological Society and the Polish Meno- and Andropause Society.

For his achievements, he was awarded the Golden Cross of Merit in 2013 and the Medal of the 100th Anniversary of Regaining Independence in 2019.
Adamed says goodbye to his co-creator
Adamed emphasized in the announcement that Adamkiewicz left a lasting legacy both in the form of professional achievements and in the hearts and minds of people who had the opportunity to cooperate with him.
The company noted that he was a person open to the needs of others, devoted to his family and filled with kindness.
