PNL MEP Siegfried Mureșan criticized PSD's position regarding the reform of magistrates' pensions, stating that the proposal to establish a working group for a new draft law, supported by Sorin Grindeanu, will not solve the problem and increase support for extremist politicians.
“If a politician wants to bury an issue, he proposes the creation of a working group. He proposes a working group as large as possible, with as many members as possible. Then he proposes as much bureaucracy as possible. Everything to not solve the problem,” wrote Siegfried Mureșan, in a post on Facebook.
He said that the majority of the population wants reforms and the correction of injustices, which the social democrats should also take into account.
“The truth is that the PSD is the party that has always opposed reforms (…) If the PSD continues to defend injustices, it will win AUR, not PSD. Injustices in society will be a source of political capital for extremists, populists and all those who want to divide”, Mureșan also stated.
The leaders of the coalition discussed, on Tuesday, the subject of the law on the modification of magistrates' pensions, which failed at the CCR. The PSD leader, Sorin Grindeanu, proposed to the coalition partners the establishment of a working group to deal with the drafting of the new law, according to HotNews sources.
However, Ilie Bolojan did not agree with Sorin Grindeanu's proposal, the same sources claim. The prime minister argued that the establishment of a working group would only delay the speedy adoption of the new law and categorically rejected the idea, saying that he preferred to personally deal with the reform of magistrates' pensions. At the end of this discussion, the social democrats left the coalition meeting.

At the end of Tuesday's meeting of the leaders of the ruling coalition, PNL first vice-president Ciprian Ciucu reported how the discussions related to the reform of magistrates' pensions proceeded, after the Constitutional Court rejected the bill on this topic.
“Sorin Grindeanu said what he had to say, Ilie Bolojan the same, no conclusion was reached. Someone else intervened without saying the conclusion and Mr. Grindeanu left the room. Mr. Bolojan did not have time to either refuse or accept”, detailed the liberal
After saying that it is necessary to “unblock the coalition”, Ciucu was asked if the coalition is now blocked. “There are moments of deadlock. I don't want it to be perceived as an attack on the PSD, we want the PSD to be part of the coalition (…) Everyone is interested in unblocking the situation in which the government is”, answered the mayor of sector 6.
