Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski on Sunday criticized the absence of a “response” from the United States to the “refusal” of Russian President Vladimir Putin to accept a complete and unconditional cessation of hostilities in Ukraine, after new attacks with victims, especially in Kiev, AFP reports.

In March, the United States proposed a 30-day fire cease, which Kiev accepted.

But US President Donald Trump, who approached Vladimir Putin, has managed to obtain from Moscow only an agreement for a armistice in the Black Sea and a very vague moratorium on the blows against energy infrastructures, which both parties accuse each other, recalls News.ro.

“Ukraine has accepted the American proposal for a total and unconditional cessation of fire. Putin refuses,” Volodimir Zelenski said in his daily speech to the nation.

“We are waiting for an answer from the United States – so far, there has been no answer,” he criticized, saying that he is waiting for an action from the Europeans and “all in the world who want peace.”

Volodimir Zelenski, whose relations with Donald Trump have been tumultuous in recent months, appeals to Washington to put pressure on Russia.

In particular, he repeatedly urged his allies to intensify the economic sanctions against Moscow.

Earlier on Sunday, he wrote on social networks that “Russia's pressure is still insufficient, and Russia's daily blows prove this.”

More attacks

The night attacks and during the morning resulted in at least two dead on Sunday, one of them in Kiev, and eight injured in different regions, according to local authorities.

In Kiev, where deadly attacks are less common, explosions were heard during the night and a thick black smoke rises above the city on Sunday morning, AFP journalists noticed.

The Kiev attack partially destroyed a building that housed the offices of public televisions that broadcast programs in foreign languages.

Other attacks resulted in a dead region (south) and four wounded in Kharkov (Northeast) and Hmelniţki (West), according to local authorities.

Rockets launched from the Black Sea

The Russian Defense Ministry said that during the night, army infrastructures were targeted, including a drone company.

Some of the missiles were launched from the Black Sea, according to Volodimir Zelenski. He appealed to a maritime armistice to guarantee the “security” of Ukraine.

The current Black Sea Agreement, as presented by the White House in March, aims to “ensure the safety of navigation, eliminate the use of force and prevent the use of commercial vessels for military purposes in the Black Sea.”

But his conditions are quite vague, as is the date on which he will enter into force, as Moscow has requested the relaxation of certain Western sanctions.

The weekend attacks come after those who killed 20 people, including nine children, on Friday, in Krivoi ROG (Center), according to a new balance published by local authorities on Sunday.

The Bureau of the High Commissioner of the United Nations Human Nations has called this attack “The bloodiest blow against children” in three years of invasion.

Volodimir Zelenski said on Sunday that the number of Russian air attacks against his country is “growing”, appealing to his allies to “strengthen” the anti -aircraft defense, which allows him to break down rockets and drones.
