Cristian Tudor Popescu asked a rhetorical question on Sunday in which he compares the tragedy in Rahova, where a pregnant woman and two other people died after an explosion in a block of flats, with the tragic events that Ukrainians are experiencing since they were invaded by Russia.
“Can you imagine that the criminal disaster in Rahova, where a child also died in his mother, has been happening for more than 3 years now, day by day, night by night, hour by hour, thousands of times, with thousands of deaths, to people in the blocks of Ukraine and their children?”, the journalist wrote in a post on Facebook.
Three people died and 20 were injured in an explosion that occurred on Friday morning in a block of flats in the Rahova district, in Sector 5 of the capital.
The block had 108 apartments in which about 400 people lived. The conclusions of the report carried out by the State Construction Inspectorate show that the 2nd staircase can no longer be used in any form and must be decommissioned and replaced. Experts believe that a consolidation is not technically and economically justified.
The authorities interviewed dozens of people, according to statements made on Saturday by the director of the Criminal Investigation Department, police chief Gheorghe Cristian.
