Victor Angelescu (41 years old), the president and minority shareholder of the Rapid club, spoke openly about the relationship he has with Dan Șucu, about decisions and about the amounts of money invested in the club so far.

Appointed president in the summer of this year, Angelescu revealed to “Prietenii lui Ovidiu” that he did not receive a salary for the position he holds in Giulesti.

Victor Angelescu: “I stay at the club between six and eight hours. I didn't get paid!”

Asked by Ovidiu Ioanițoaia “How do you reconcile the position of executive president with that of investor?”, Victor Angelescu answered directly: “Very well!”.

And he elaborated on the answer: “At least here, in football, it is very difficult to find someone like we wanted, to be able to lead the club as president. And then, this year, I made the decision, after trying several options, that one of me and Mr. Șucu be president”.

“Mr. Şucu, as we know, also has Genoa and has more problems on his head. So I decided that I would handle more of this part as executive chairman“, Victor Angelescu pointed out.

He occupies the former office where Viorel Moldovan worked, who left at the end of last season. “I have an office at the club, but there's nothing written on the door. That's where all the presidents stayed. I stay at the club quite a lot, between six and eight hours a day. So far I have not received a salary! It's a discussion, but no, I haven't been renumbered so far“.

Where does Angeles earn money? “From my separate businesses,” he replied.

“I invested four million euros in Rapid”

He specified, during the show on GSP.RO, that until now, at Rapid, “I invested four million euros”. “Mr. Șucu put only about 27 million euros in the social capital. Where do we not put the investments from the sports bases”, the president of the club also declared.

He also said that “I get along very well with Mr. Șucu”, being the boss of Mobexpert “the main decision-maker, that's normal”.

“We don't have a problem with this, we had an understanding from the beginning. He became a majority and it's normal as a majority, if there is a situation in which I have to make a decision, he should take it,” said Angelescu.

Dan Șucu still speaks “extremely rarely” about football in public

The president and minority patron also announced that Dan Șucu preferred to take a step back in terms of appearances in public life in Romania.

He decided to make the decision to go out only extremely rarely, at important events or when he has something to convey on the club's official page. I think it is a very good decision. In the end, he is a financier and I don't think he has… I am the president of the club, I can speak, we have coaches, he has someone to speak on behalf of Rapid”, argued Angelescu.

I was really surprised when Mr. Șucu invested in Genoa. I knew about the interest for a year and a half because he had told me, and I didn't expect a Romanian entrepreneur to become the owner of a club in Serie A. He was proposed by Răzvan Raț, who was close to the president there. I don't know how much money he invested, but he consulted me when he did the due diligence because he knew I worked in investment funds
