PSD president Sorin Grindeanu criticized Hardly, at Antena 3, the provisions of GEO 52/2025 regarding the reduction of the expenses in the administration, stating that the Ministry of Finance blocked “stupid, as idiots” the activity of the state institutions.

Sorin Grindeanu said that he asked Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan how he was adopted GEO 52/2025 within the Government.

“The Ministry of Finance came and read on the tape a much longer amendment that has no connection with the reality. Then the Ministry of Finance asked to be exempted,” said Grindeanu. “It is the perfect example in which you do stupid, like idiots, all those things and block everything and then you, who promoted them, ask for exceptions to you,” the PSD leader continued.

Also, Grindeanu criticized the project of reform of the local administration supported by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, who said it represents “a mass dismissal”.

“The so-called reform in the local administration is not a reform, but it is a mass dismissal (…) There are administrative-territorial units with an excessive number of employees and which must reduce it, but what we have to follow is not to lower the level of public services. These things can be done through reforms, not dismissal,” said the PSD.

“Package 3 must be the last”

He also said that the 3 -measures package must be the last to be adopted by assuming the Government's responsibility before the Parliament.

“This package 3 must be the last, to be very clear, because it is an exceptional way to promote this assumption procedure. That is why we have Parliament, to go through the Parliament, not to come up with assumptions (…) It must be the last, but it is mandatory to contain that part of relaunching and economic stimulation, otherwise we risk it. We must avoid it.

On the other hand, Grindeanu does not believe that the PSD should come out of the government and, possibly, to support the Bolojan government.

“If the PSD comes out of the Government what happens the next day? What is the majority? I came to the coalition from the desire to try to bring the value on certain measures. With support from Parliament,” said the Social Democrat.

GEO 52/2025, adopted earlier this month, prohibits some types of expenses that the institutions from the local and central administration can make in the last three months of the year.

The provisions of the ordinance were challenged from within the PSD, among the contestants being the mayor of Craiova, Lia Olguța Vasilescu.

“By the end of the year, we can no longer do repairs. It means repairs of roads, schools, hospitals and so on (…) When it was effectively forbidden to make repairs through this emergency ordinance, we become unable to prepare the roads for winter,” Vasilescu said.
