Law and Justice plays on emotions – said political scientist prof. Małgorzata Myśliwiec after Saturday's demonstration in Warsaw. She assessed that, therefore, Prime Minister Donald Tusk would not be able to convince the PiS “iron electorate” of his narrative on immigrants.

Opposition to illegal immigration was one of the main topics of the demonstration organized by PiS. Before it started, Prime Minister Donald Tusk (Civic Coalition) announced on social media that Poland would not participate in the relocation of immigrants within the European Union.
– PiS plays on emotions. And now, regardless of what Donald Tusk says, the message received by PiS's loyal electorate will be the same – we are threatened by illegal immigration. (…) I think that questions or doubts will not arise in this matter – told PAP prof. Małgorzata Myśliwiec, who heads the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Silesia in Katowice.
During the demonstration and on social media, PiS politicians argued that stopping the relocation of immigrants, which has not yet been officially confirmed, is not due to Donald Tusk, but to President Karol Nawrocki and his “tough policy”. According to the political scientist, PiS will try to “capitalize” it.
According to prof. Małgorzata Myśliwiec, the most characteristic feature of the Polish political scene is polarization, which is needed by both PiS and KO. – The topic of immigration is polarizing. It is used as a scare and will continue to be used this way, she emphasized.
According to the political scientist, the main goal of Saturday's demonstration was to mobilize the PiS electorate.
During his speech, PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński said about the party's vice-president and MP Przemysław Czarnek: “he has not been prime minister so far, but he probably will be.”
– Przemysław Czarnek was very seriously considered as the PiS candidate for president. He remains a strong player on the Polish political scene and in the PiS camp itself. (…) I think that his recent public statements are intended to show that he is indeed a candidate representing the right, and a very conservative right, said prof. Małgorzata Myśliwiec.
According to PAP findings, on pl. About 10-15 thousand people gathered at the Castle Square. people. (PAP)
