So, it is recommended to change bed linen at least once a week. It should be washed at a temperature not lower than 55 °C.
The mattress should be changed when it begins to wear out, become deformed, or becomes uncomfortable to sleep on. This usually needs to be done every 7 years.
“If you have asthma or allergic rhinitis, you should be careful about what's in your pillows and change them frequently. Check the pillow's label to see if it's machine washable: generally only pillows filled with down or synthetic down can be washed; the rest may need to be dry cleaned or simply replaced. The pillow must be washed every 6 months in hot water; it is better to use a product without a distinct odor. There are also signs that will tell you that it's time to replace your pillow: a change in color since purchase, change in shape (the pillow has become flat or lumpy), you wake up with neck pain or tension headaches. Mattress covers, pillow covers and blankets also need regular washing,” Rospotrebnadzor said.
Experts also noted that there is no correct answer to the question of whether to cover the bed with a blanket or not. There is still a lot of controversy: some believe that it is necessary to do this – this way the laundry will not collect dust, others are sure that the bed should be ventilated.
