Jamie Dimon on AI: “It's the tip of the iceberg”

“We know this is billions in savings and I think this is the tip of the iceberg” – said Dimon in an interview on Tuesday, praising the possibilities offered by artificial intelligence. The bank already has hundreds of applications of this technology, which, as the president predicts, will develop intensively. Dimon noted its ability to support people through illnesses such as cancer and the prospect of a shorter workweek.
A few days earlier, in another interview with Bloomberg TV, the CEO of JPMorgan Chase & Co. he envisioned a future in which technology would radically change people's lives.
“Your children will live to be 100 and cancer-free thanks to technology,” he said. “And they will literally work probably three and a half days a week“.
However, Dimon emphasized that while artificial intelligence brings enormous benefits, it also comes with risks. “Technology has done incredible things for humanity, but you know, plane crashes, drug abuse — there are downsides, too,” he noted. His biggest concern is the potential for artificial intelligence to be exploited by people with malicious intent.

The president of JPMorgan also noted that the development of technology, including artificial intelligence, has always been associated with the elimination of some professions.
“It has always been about new technologies,” he said, adding that despite these changes, artificial intelligence has the potential to transform the world for the better.
