Video a building collapsed in the center of Madrid. More workers are sought among the rubble

A building that was in renovation collapsed partially, on Tuesday, in the center of Madrid, on Las Hileras street, two steps from the Royal Theater. The area was immediately isolated by the authorities, while the rescue teams continue the searches among the rubble.
According to the National Police, quoted by the Ziarul Marc, at least four people would be blocked under the ruins, reports Le Figaro and News.ro.
Another person, seriously injured, was transported to the hospital with a foot fracture.
It would be about workers working on the site. The Emergency Service said that several of them are still missing.
A construction site worker estimated that “up to 40 people can be inside.”
“I heard a crack at the level of a plate, then everything crashed into a cloud of smoke,” he told him.
Firefighters, assisted by rescue dogs, explore the place in search of any victims who could still be blocked.
The building, abandoned for a long time, was subjected to important renovation works to be transformed into a four-star hotel.
The mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, expressed his concern. “We are facing the partial collapse of several plates in a building in construction in Hileras Street. Eleven firefighters are mobilized to secure the place and look for missing people, coordinating with Ambulance, Madrid police and National Police,” he wrote on social networks.

Drone searches
The employees of the neighborhood stores told the Spanish agency EFE that they heard a “noise” followed by a dense cloud of dust and a “strange smell”.
“There was a huge noise, the windows broke, there was a lot of white dust, nothing was seen,” said an employee of a hairdressing salon opposite the affected building.
Rescue operations continue.
“The police work with drones,” the rescue services in Madrid said, adding that an investigation was opened to establish the circumstances of the incident. The buildings adjacent to the affected building “are under evacuation,” they said.
