“The police found that a 65-year-old local resident in his own yard shot someone else's dog from a smoothbore gun, after which he placed a wounded animal in a bag and took a car away from the house. […] The animal could not be saved, ”the report said.
Law enforcement officers noted that the patrol police then “found an attacker on the outskirts of the village and held priority measures to establish a personality and the presence of weapons”, and the wounded dog was handed over to the veterinarians.
“The actions of a man are qualified by investigators under part 1 of article 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The defendant reported suspicion. For cruel treatment of an animal man, threatens up to three years in prison,” the police emphasized.
The release reported that the official investigation was continuing “on the fact of the possible inaction of law enforcement officers who worked out the priority.”
According to police, the incident occurred on September 30. The body of his dog was allegedly discovered by a neighbor in his yard.
“The man explained: the alien dog rushed at his poultry,” law enforcement officers wrote on October 1.
